Field names and descriptions
Faculty code >> (M)
Type or double click to select the faculty code.
Subject code (M)
Type the school subject code. This cannot be edited/altered once saved. The following structure is recommended:
Six characters consisting of:
One character for the subject level/stage (eg. 8, 9, 0, 1, 2).
Three characters for the subject (eg. ENG, PHY)
One character for the subject length/units (eg. 1, 2)
One character as a variant (eg. A, B, C)
Schools should adopt a consistent approach. The first 5 characters could also reflect the SSABSA subject code, and adapted for non-SSABSA subjects (eg. 1ENG1A).
Subject short name
Type a short subject name, which can be used in printing titles on secondary school timetables. This can be up to 10 characters.
Name (M)
Type a subject name. There is no need to include the year level in the name, however SAS, PAS or PES could be included for use in Student Achievement Records, eg. English PES.
Course name >>
Type or double click to select the course.
Level >> (M)
Type or double click to select the year level.
Length
Type the length of the subject in relation to terms.
Value
Type the points value of the subject.
Status
Type the status of the subject.
Fee $
Type the fee charged for the subject (if charged).
Group code >> (M)
Type or double click to select the subject's departmental group code.
Instruction time
Type the amount of instruction time (in minutes per week). If entered, this will create census information.
Subject code >> (M)
Type or double click to select the departmental subject code.
Yr level >> (M)
Type or double click to select the departmental year level.
SSABSA Subject code >>
Type or double click to select the SSABSA subject code.
Required for year 11 and 12 subjects if the data is to be used for Student Achievement Records, DATEX transfer and annual census.
SACE Stage
Displays the SACE stage. This cannot be altered.
SACE Code
Displays the SACE subject code. This cannot be altered.
SACE Units
Displays the SACE units. This cannot be altered.
