SYS Editing or deleting subject records

This system task is used to edit or delete subject records.
Note:
If students are enrolled in subjects, then the subjects cannot be deleted.
It is recommended that subjects not be deleted, unless they are never to be used again, or were created by mistake. If not deleted, the subject can be used again, if the need arises in the future. Follow school policy on this issue.
Path: Curriculum Module... > Subjects and Classes... > Subjects

  1. Click Curriculum Module....
    The Curriculum Module... menu displays.
  2. Click Subjects and Classes...
    The Subject and Classes... menu displays.
  3. Click Subjects.
    The Subject Details list displays.
  4. Double click the required subject record.
    The School Subject Details screen displays.
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Do one of the following:
    • To edit the record
      • Change all appropriate details and click Save.
    • To delete the record
      • Click Delete.
        The Delete this record? message displays (or if the subject is in use by a student, an Error message displays).
      • Click Yes (or if the subject is in use, click OK).
  7. Click Cancel repeatedly to return to the Subject and Classes... menu and click Main to return to the Main menu , or do the following:

  1. From the List Box, double click A-Subject Descriptor.
    The School Subject Descriptor screen displays.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To edit the record
      • Change all appropriate details and click Save.
    • To delete the record
      • Click Delete.
        The Delete this record? message displays.
      • Click Yes.
  4. Click Cancel repeatedly to return to the Subject and Classes... menu .
  5. Click Main to return to the Main menu .
