SYS Printing Student Achievement Records (SARs)

This system task is used to print Student Achievement Records (SARs).
Related system tasks include:
Path: Student Module... > Student Utilities... > SAR... > SAR Print
[arrow.gif] From the Main Menu
  1. Click Student Module...
    The Student Module... menu displays.
  2. Click Student Utilities...
    The Student Utilities... menu displays.
  3. Click SAR...
    The SAR... menu displays.
  4. Click SAR Print
    The Print selected SAR details screen displays.
  5. Enter a Student ID and/or Year Level and/or Roll Class.
  6. Click Add.
    The student(s) will be displayed in the list box above.
  7. Click the required student(s).
    Note:
    If a student has previously had sections of the SAR printed, these figures appear in blue text to the right of the section check boxes.
  8. Make the selections required. Refer to the Print selected SAR details screen for specific information.
  9. Click OK.
    The Print SAR details for selected students and parts? message displays.
  10. Click Yes.
    Microsoft Word is launched
    The Selected SAR Report data produced message displays.
  11. Click OK.
    The reports are now ready for merging, printing or saving.
    Note:
    The reports/documents can be accessed via Microsoft Word's Window menu. They usually consist of the following, but this depends on the selections made in step 8 above:
    • SAR1.doc to the student reference
    • SAR2.doc to student activities and responsibilities
    • SAR3.doc to the student's current non-SACE studies
    • SAR4.doc to the SACE subjects the student has completed
    • SAR5.doc to the student's current SACE studies.
  12. For the document currently selected. A spell check can also be completed by pressing F7 or by clicking the Spelling button [abc.gif] on the toolbar.
  13. Click the Merge to New Document button [merge.gif] on the Word Mail Merge toolbar.
    The document will be merged with the student data.
  14. Repeat step 12 if required.
  15. To print the document, click the Print button [print1.gif] on the toolbar.
    The Printing message displays and the document is sent to the printer.
  16. To close the document, click the File menu, then click Close.
    The Save message displays.
  17. Do one of the following:
    • To save/archive the SAR:
      • Click Yes.
      • Give the document a name and choose a location for the file.
      • Click Save.
    • Click No.
      The original SAR document displays.
  18. To close the original document:
    • Click the File menu, then click Close.
      The Save message displays.
    • Click No.
      A different SAR document displays (if created).
  19. To merge, print or save the other documents (if created), repeat steps 12 to 18.
  20. To exit Microsoft Word, click the File menu, then click Exit.
    The EDSAS SAR... menu displays.
  21. Click Main to return to the Main menu .
